Matterhorn - 2 Kilo Edition

The Matterhorn, renowned for its nearly perfect pyramid shape, stands as one of the most iconic mountains globally. Towering at 4,478 meters (14,692 feet), it remains a formidable challenge, even for seasoned climbers, having claimed over 500 lives. This Alpine giant wasn't conquered until 1865 when Edward Whymper and his team reached its summit.

This coin captures the thrilling yet tragic tale of that first ascent, showcasing intricate details that bring history to life. Along its edge, Whymper’s poignant words from the summit are engraved: "At 1.40 p.m. the world was at our feet, and the Matterhorn was conquered. Hurrah! Not a footstep could be seen." Sadly, four of the seven climbers perished during their descent, and their bravery is commemorated on the coin's reverse.

This extraordinary 2 kg coin, with a diameter of 140 mm, is individually numbered and limited to just 50 pieces worldwide. It features exclusive coloration and a remarkable relief—14 mm on the reverse and 5 mm on the obverse—achieved through CIT’s groundbreaking smartminting® technology. Despite its grand size, the coin maintains a sleek thickness of only 12 mm, embodying both the grandeur and peril of the Matterhorn. You can almost hear the mountain winds echoing from its impressive design.

Samurai

Following the immense success of the Iron Knight, CIT unveils its next formidable figure: the samurai. The samurai were elite warriors of feudal Japan, playing a pivotal role in society from the 12th to 19th centuries. Loyal to their daimyō (feudal lords), these warriors were masters of combat, renowned for their skill with the katana—a curved long sword symbolizing their esteemed status. Clad in meticulously crafted armor, the samurai embodied a life of discipline, courage, and loyalty, following the bushido code that defined their honor-bound existence. Today, the legacy of the samurai resonates across the globe, inspiring literature, cinema, and pop culture. This ultra-high relief coin pays tribute to their enduring influence, capturing the intricate details of their armor and the fierce determination in their gaze. Crafted in proof quality with partial nanoshine elements, this coin brings the legendary samurai to life, presenting a formidable warrior ready for battle.

Butterfly

Sometimes, simplicity speaks volumes. This coin captivates with the striking contrast between its Obsidian black finish and finely crafted proof surfaces. Enhanced by an innovative nanoshine effect, the delicate lines of the filigree butterfly shimmer with a radiant glow, adding an enchanting, magical touch to this elegant piece.

The Journey Anchor – Rough Storms

This final release in the acclaimed series circles back to its origins with a design that embodies the anchor’s rich symbolism. Representing stability, security, and protection, the anchor holds a ship steady, preventing it from drifting into uncertainty. It signifies resilience during turbulent times and reflects the delicate balance between adventurous pursuits and the comfort of a safe return.

For those connected to the sea or longing for freedom, the anchor serves as a cherished emblem—a lucky charm offering protection against life’s challenges. The concluding edition is a visual masterpiece, showcasing a striking fusion of finishes. The coin features a dramatic black proof background, while the anchor gleams with partial gold plating. Matte design elements further elevate the coin’s artistry, making this a truly special keepsake to mark the series’ end.

Phobias - Arachnophobia

The "Phobias" series returns with its second installment, diving into the spine-tingling world of arachnophobia—the fear of spiders. While some may shrug off these eight-legged creatures, others are sent into a frenzy at the mere sight of them. Despite the widespread fear, only a small fraction of spider species pose any real threat to humans.

This coin captures the essence of that fear in an extraordinary design. A monstrous spider looms large, emerging from a concave surface with hair-raising detail. One of its hairy legs pierces through the enamel barrier, symbolically separating the menacing arachnid from a terrified girl, caught in the throes of her worst nightmare. This release is sure to both captivate and divide collectors with its bold, evocative imagery

Weighing in at 1 kilogram, this coin is limited to just 77 pieces worldwide, making it a rare treasure for collectors and nature enthusiasts alike.

Underwater Fantasy - Sea Monster

Following the success of the Mermaids coin, this striking collectible plunges into the treacherous world of pirates. Dominating the scene is a formidable sea monster, its tentacles masterfully sculpted in high relief and adorned with smooth enamel, as they rise from the ocean's depths to seize and shatter pirate ships. The swirling wreckage vividly illustrates the destructive might of this mythical beast, while the finely detailed underwater waves capture the intense motion of the encounter.

An inverted inscription on a torn ship's flag enhances the eerie, mystical ambiance, evoking the fearsome legends of the pirate era. This coin narrates the tale of two rival pirate ships whose fierce competition ultimately led to their shared demise at the hands of this ancient sea creature.

Crafted with an extraordinary mix of detailed relief, partial antique finishing, and vibrant enamel, this coin stands as a remarkable example of modern minting techniques. It's an essential piece for collectors passionate about thrilling maritime adventures and numismatic artistry.

This catastrophic event preserved the city in time, capturing its streets, buildings, and the haunting final moments of its inhabitants.

This exceptional coin captures the precise moment of Vesuvius' deadly eruption. The volcano rises dramatically in ultra-high relief—reaching almost 10 mm—made possible by innovative smartminting® technology. The intricate design vividly portrays the molten lava streams creeping toward the city below. At the forefront, two gladiators continue their fierce battle in the nearby arena, oblivious to the impending doom. This numismatic masterpiece not only reflects a pivotal moment in ancient history but also showcases cutting-edge minting craftsmanship, making it a must-have for history enthusiasts and collectors alike.

A distinctive feature of this coin is the incorporation of Tiffany glass depicting the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers, adding depth and a unique touch of color. The coin features a fascinating pattern of hexagons in various heights, reflecting the natural beauty of this volcanic wonder. But the hexagonal shape is not just limited to the Giant's Causeway—it is found in countless other formations across the globe.

From the striking basalt columns of Devils Postpile National Monument in California to the symmetrical shapes of snow crystals, soap bubbles, and even the well-known honeycombs of beehives, hexagons are a recurring motif in nature. This coin explores this theme in an abstract and artistic way, with a stunning smartminting® technique.

The surface is covered with an array of polished and partially beveled hexagons, creating a unique and dynamic texture. The coin’s design constantly shifts and evolves with movement, capturing light in different ways and mesmerizing every observer. A perfect fusion of nature and art, this coin is a must-have for collectors who appreciate both the abstract and the natural world.
