Canada’s National Parks Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve 1 Oz Fine Silver Coin
DESCRIPTION
Our cross-country journey concludes along Quebec’s Côte-Nord at the spectacular Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve, where more than a thousand limestone islands and islets stretch across the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence, opposite Anticosti Island.
Protected since 1984 and located on Nitassinan, the traditional lands of the Innu people, this remarkable coastal reserve is home to Canada’s largest concentration of natural erosion monoliths—towering rock pillars sculpted by wind, water, and time. Rich in biodiversity and cultural history, the archipelago has been inhabited for thousands of years by the Ekuanitshit and Nutashkuan First Nations and remains a place where nature and heritage are deeply connected.
This final coin in the 2026 Canada’s National Parks series captures the dramatic coastal scenery and sense of rhythm shaped by sea and stone. As with the other issues in the set, the reverse includes the signature Parks Canada red chairs, symbolically inviting collectors to pause, reflect, and take in the view—an engraved tribute to Canada’s protected wild spaces.
