Heraldic Landscape: Animals of Canada 5 Oz Pure Silver Coin Canada 2026

Following the acclaimed 2024 Heraldic Landscape: Birds of Canada, the 2026 Heraldic Landscape: Wildlife of Canada 5 oz Silver Coin presents a sweeping portrait of the nation through thirteen animals representing Canada’s provinces and territories.

Designed by renowned heraldic artist Cathy Bursey-Sabourin, creator of the modern rendition of the Arms of Canada, the composition combines wildlife, geography, and heraldic symbolism into an intricate visual journey from coast to coast to coast.

Thirteen animals—each selected for its historic or heraldic significance—guide the viewer across the country. The journey begins in the Arctic, travels toward the Pacific, moves through the mountains and vast prairies, continues into Canada’s great forests, and ultimately reaches the Atlantic coast. Heraldic division lines and symbolic motifs help define these changing landscapes while bringing the individual elements together as one unified portrait.

Struck in an impressive 5 oz of 99.99% pure silver with a substantial 65 mm diameter, the larger format provides an exceptional canvas for the artwork’s fine details. Selective gold plating adds contrast and prestige, drawing attention to key elements while complementing the intricately engraved silver landscape.

With an exceptionally low mintage of only 1,400 coins worldwide, this 2026 release is a prestigious celebration of Canada’s natural diversity, provincial and territorial identity, and rich heraldic tradition.
